  • Condition: Good vintage condition - from the collection of a recent estate. Note there are 2 small rough areas on one side - see last 2 photos - looks like possible defect in glaze. This was purchased from a recent estate.

    This auction is for an
    Early Rockingham Bennington Style Brown Glaze Pottery Hunt Scene Pitcher with
    Hound Handle.
    One side shows dogs with a stag or deer and the other shows dogs fighting a bear.
    The handle is a graceful Greyhound.
    CONDITION:
    It is in good condition with no cracks or chips.
    Note there are
    2 small rough areas on one side - see last two photos
    - looks like possible defect in glaze.
    No maker mark that I can see.  I purchase it from an estate and it was said to be a Bennington Pitcher.
    It measures approximately 7" tall with an opening of 3 1/2" The Base is 4 3/4" and the body is about 6" at greatest diameter.  The Hound Handle measures about 5" long.
