    Quarter Sawn Oak Door or Window Header, Estate Salvage, 74" Wide x 20"H
    This beautiful oak header was salvaged from the Kean Estate, a 17,000 square-foot mansion atop the highest point in Livingston, New Jersey, once home of the 10-term U.S. Congressman Robert W. Kean.
    The header is composed of quarter sawn oak with a light stained finish. A composite applique featuring scrolled acanthus foliage graces the front panel of the piece. The back of each header is stamped with the maker's mark, "Jeans & Taylor, Caldwell, N.J.".
    Condition: Very good condition. Beautiful finish and construction. Each header shows expected light surface scuffing as expected with age. The headers vary slightly with regard to edge trim and applique condition. Please see the list, below, for individual item detail. Some are missing pieces of trim and molding along the sides and have light wear throughout.
    Measurements: Each header has very slight measurement differences, see details below for exact measurements. Widths vary between 73 3/8" and 73 1/2". Heights vary from 19 1/4" to 19 3/4". Please inquire for more information regarding available sizes and conditions.
    Provenance: This header was salvaged from the Kean Estate, a 17,000 square-foot mansion sat atop the highest point in Livingston, New Jersey. This Georgian style stone mansion was the original home of 10-term U.S. Congressman Robert W. Kean, father of former Governor Thomas Kean. This sprawling residence features 14 bedrooms, 11 bathrooms, and 15 fireplaces. The Kean Estate, and items from it, is featured on Episode 6, Season 11, of the DIY Network Show, "Salvage Dawgs".

    Individual Measurement and Condition
    1) GR1: 7 1/2"(L) x 73 3/8"(W) x 19 3/8"(H) - Crown molding missing from right side. Missing narrow 2 3/4" tall piece from right side of panel section. Very small chip on top right corner. Partial applique.
    2) GR2: 7 1/2"(L) x 73 1/2"(W) x 19 3/4"(H) - Damaged applique. General wear to finish, some components may need refastening (tightening).
    3) GR3: 7 1/2"(L) x 73 1/2"(W) x 19 1/2"(H) - Good overall condition. Molding missing from bottom right and left sides.
    4) GR4: 7 1/2"(L) x 73 3/8"(W) x 19 3/8"(H) - Missing crown molding from top left side.
    5) GR5: 7 1/2"(L) x 73 1/2"(W) x 19 1/4"(H) - Missing molding from lower left side and part of lower right.
