NEW STERLING SILVER HANDCRAFTED JEWELRY SET BY DUTCH ARTIST JAN GJALTEMA
A truly unique sterling silver ensemble set, necklace, bracelet and earrings by jewelry design artist Jan D. Gjaltema (Groningen, Holland, 1951). Influenced by his education and experience in architecture, Dutch born Jan D. Gjaltema combines the linear and structural with the modern and forward look, to produce a most varied and distinctive collection of hand-crafted sterling silver jewelry. In 1983 Jan D. turned his full creative attention to fine jewelry design. The results of his efforts have been nothing short of spectacular. His jewelry graces the finest galleries and museum gift shops throughout Europe, Japan and the United States.
The necklace measures 18" and features 16 individual stations of seven different design shapes all constructed and attached by curved sterling wire. It is also adjustable so that the clasp, (which is simply a long, wavy hook that can be fitted over any of the design stations) can be worn in the back or front, choker or lariat style. The bracelet measures 7" with nine individual design stations. The last, fitting through a frame of itself creating a toggle look clasp. The earrings measure 7/16" x 7/16". This is a stunning ensemble. Its more notably wearable art, a must have for any collector or jewelry enthusiast.
