Antique Hand Turned Bundt or Cake Mold Lead Glaze - 9 " Smooth Form

Description

Offered is a beautiful antique redware cake mold with a plain lead glaze.  The mold is 9 " in diameter, 2 3/4" in height - the center tube is about 1/2" taller than the rim of the mold.  The sides are plain no twist or fluting - and the center tube is straight.  It appears that it was hand turned - see ridges on the inside of the tube from the bottom and you can see the lines on the inside of the mold. The piece has a few glaze nicks on the top rim and very little overall crazing. There is a tiny hairline on one side but it does not go through the mold. The bottom of the mold has some glaze loss.  Beautiful display piece - obvious lead glaze on the mold. Most probably a Pennsylvania piece - found in south central PA.
