Notes
Holding time is tested in a static status without canisters or samples inside. Moving tanks, opening tanks, or adding samples will fasten the evaporation of liquid nitrogen.
Actual holding time can vary depending on:
1) If there are canisters inside
2) Size, temperature and heat capacity of the sample
3) Temperature and humidity of the surrounding
4) Any movement (during changing samples or while transporting)
Cautions:
1. For the first use of liquid nitrogen dewar, full fill it with LN2 and let it stand for approximately 24 hours. LN2 evaporates very quickly for the first use. After approximately 24 hours, refill the dewar then put your samples into the dewar.
2. Boiling and splashing always occur when filling a warm container with cryogenic liquid or when inserting objects into the liquid.
3. These tanks are shipped empty. Customers will need to obtain their own Liquid Nitrogen.
Description
This is a 6 L Cryogenic Liquid Nitrogen (LN2) Dewar Tank for your LN2 storage needs. This tank is crafted using aircraft grade aluminum and comes with 6 canisters attached to straws for storing specimens inside the container. Using Dewar technology, this tank employs insulating process involving a vacuum between two interior walls. An insulated padded cover with straps is also provided which helps reduce LN2 loss and makes carrying stress-free. It is convenient and lightweight, weighing approx. 11 lbs. empty (about 21 lbs. full) making it exceptional in various settings. Static holding time for this tank is 50 days.
